They are both countries where the indigenous population was colonized and persecuted.
They both lost their language. Israel has successfully achieved independence and built a nation and revived a language – something that the Irish people have failed to do.
The Irish still speak English – the Israelis speak Hebrew. Is jealousy part of the Irish problem with Israel?
